Mrs Y – Slip – £3,500

Mrs Y was shopping with her children, when she slipped on some wet tiles at the entrance to a sports shop in Barnstaple. Mrs Y recovered £3500 in damages as compensation for her suffering, and said, ‘I am very pleased with the service. I was always kept well informed of progress, and the results were excellent’.

Fall in car park leads to injury

Mrs A came to Russell Worth in November 2014 following an accident in which she fell and sustained injury. After a day at work Mrs A was returning to her car which was parked in a car park. As she proceeded to walk down a slope towards her car Mrs A slipped on the ground which had been painted yellow and was slippery. Mrs A fell sideways sustaining a laceration to her face, concussion, neck pain and ligament damage to her wrist. RP, public liability specialist, ensured that Mrs A was awarded the compensation to which she was entitled by firstly submitting a claim to the car park owner. Within three weeks of the claim being submitted, an admission of responsibility was received from the car park owner’s insurance company. Then began the process of ensuring Mrs A was awarded the correct level of compensation for the injuries she had suffered. This meant waiting a few months to see if Mrs A’s injuries would be permanent. Mrs A also attended an independent medical expert who confirmed her injuries and the likely time period it would take for them to heal. Unfortunately Mrs A has been left with permanent residual scarring and wrist pain following the accident and this was taken into account when considering the correct level of compensation to which she was entitled. After some negotiation, Mrs A accepted the sum of £8,070 in settlement of her claim for the pain and suffering she had sustained. Commenting on the case Mrs A said: ‘Excellent. The service was efficient from start to finish and I would not hesitate to recommend Russell Worth Solicitors to anybody who is unfortunate enough to meet with a personal injury that is not their fault.’

Compensation for cyclist knocked off his bike

When T came to us in 2014 he had been involved in a road traffic accident which resulted in him being knocked off his bicycle by a lorry which overtook him too closely.  T witnessed his bicycle being dragged under the wheels of the lorry but thankfully did not get dragged under the lorry himself.  Shaken and in shock T was left with severe pain and stiffness to his neck and left wrist.  JT, our Road Traffic Accident specialist, wasted no time in securing an admission of liability from the other side’s insurance company.  Prior to a compensation figure being agreed JT arranged for T to attend an independent medical expert to ensure the right level of compensation was received and any future medical treatment needed would be taken care of. T was awarded £3966.30 for pain and suffering together with additional losses such as damage to his bicycle and taxi fares he had incurred whilst unable to ride. Speaking of his claim experience with Russell Worth T said; ‘Very good and professional service. I am very pleased with the help, advice, support and after care service I experienced. Thanks very much’
