What is my claim worth for personal injury?

Being involved in an accident, through no fault of your own, which leads to injury can be a stressful and upsetting experience. Here at Russell Worth we know only too well the impact personal injuries can have on people’s lives – we have been dealing with these types of claims since 1997!

Russell Worth have a team of over 60 experienced, friendly and dedicated staff who all work together as part of a big team in order to obtain, whenever possible, compensation for injured clients.

We deal with all types of injuries ranging from minor injuries to more serious. The question we get asked a lot is ‘how much compensation am I likely to receive?’ This can be a difficult question as often the following need to be considered:-

1. How long did the injury last?
2. Is the recovery full or partial?
3. Are you left with any scarring?
4. How will the injury affect you in the future – if at all?
5. Will the injury affect your employability in the future?

Depending on how the above questions are answered can often affect the compensation figure. For example, for a whiplash that lasts between a few weeks and one year you could expect to receive between £1005-£2,850 which jumps to £2,850 – £5,150 when recovery is between one and two years. The longer the injury lasts, usually the more the claim is worth.

It goes without saying that the more serious the injury, the higher the compensation figure you can expect to receive. To give you an idea of what compensation figures different injuries attract please have a look at the following page What’s my claim worth which provides a breakdown.

Of course, as well as the actual injury itself, there are other losses which needed to be considered and claimed for as follows:-

1. Loss of earnings.
2. Medical costs such as physiotherapy, prescriptions etc.
3. Care costs.
4. Travel expenses to and from medical appointments etc.
5. Loss of enjoyment of a pre booked holiday.
6. Kennel/cattery costs if you are unable to care for a pet.

Although we are unable to give exact figures when it comes to valuing a claim at the outset, we can ensure that we do everything possible when making a claim on behalf of a client to result in them receiving the maximum level of compensation due.
